BIOGRAPHY

Steven lives in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire with his Wife and children.

Steven is a renowned Character Actor, Writer, and Director.

Steven K. Beattie has been writing for over twenty years and in that time, he has written numerous short stories and poems, three plays and a screenplay ‘Beneath Still Water, which focused on the legend of Blakemere Pool, Leek, and the legend of the mermaid which resides there.
 
Steven has also been acting for twenty-five years and has appeared in numerous plays and musicals and is a current member of Stoke Repertory Theatre Players.
 
In December 2025 it was announced that Steven would be 'Stoke-on-Trent Poet Laureate' May 2026-May 2028. 

When he's not at work Steven enjoys drives and walks in the Peak District, exploring historical sites, and especially spending time with his family.

He is a rocker and metalhead, and proud Motörheadbanger.

He currently resides in Stoke-on-Trent, England, where he continues his work and enjoys the vibrant local community.


One of Steven's short stories- The Voice Within - has been included in the anthology 'Impossible spaces', alongside horror maestro Ramsey Campbell.

As an Actor and Director, Steven has been an active member of the local Stoke Rep Players and from 2017 -2019 was Chairman of the Rep Players. Steven has appeared in many plays and musicals, most recently in 'Cats' singing the role of Old Deuteronomy plus many more such as; Carousel, Goodnight Mr Tom, Jane Eyre, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Railway Children and for 2013 joined the cast of The Sound of Music at the Regent Theatre, Stoke -on-Trent alongside Denise Leigh (winner of Channel4's Operatunity/Singer at the opening of the 2012 London Paralympics).
